Account Specialist (New York, NY)

The Account Specialist will work closely with colleagues across the agency and serve as a day-to-day point person on various accounts. The Account Specialist will provide strategic media and communication advice to clients in the financial services and technology industries, effectively prioritizes multiple time-sensitive tasks, values and cultivates client and industry relationships, and excels when faced with tight deadlines. Primary responsibilities include effective strategy development, executive visibility, strategic client counsel, media training, and issues management.

  • Design and execute creative communications campaigns for clients across digital, print and other mediums
  • Generate consistent proactive media and analyst coverage, as well as speaking and award opportunities
  • Prepare public relations materials including press releases, bylined articles, briefing books and other client-facing documents
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, analysts, journalists and editors at key publications
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, successfully managing client expectations, deliverables, reporting requirements and budgets
  • Analyze industry news, feature opportunities and on-going trends to consistently create opportunities for your clients
  • Perform research tasks and assist with new business projects as required

Minimum Requirements Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, plus at least 4 years relevant experience in public relations fields required. Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently: Knowledge of the Financial Services and Technology industries and public relations experience in the B2B industry; Building strong existing relationships with key financial industry journalists in the international press, and trade journals; Preparing executives to brief industry analysts in technology and financial services; Using social media as part of a marketing and PR campaign; Developing and honing writing, editing, and research skills.
