Articulate Communications Closes Strong First Quarter
B2B Technology and Services PR Firm Kicks off 2010 with New Hires, New Businessand New Industry Accolades
April 27, 2010 · New York · In times that have seen a decrease in the average public relations agency's revenues and reduction in staff levels, Articulate Communications Inc., a firm that helps technology and business services companies achieve their corporate goals through results-oriented, targeted, strategic communications, continues to see growth, closing its first quarter in 2010 with a significant increase in headcount to support new and existing business. The boutique agency is on pace to achieve the most successful first half in the firm's eight-year history.
Eight new clients and increasing budgets from existing clients have led Articulate to hire four new full-time employees since December 2009. The new professionals join the existing staff in supporting the agency's core clients in the infrastructure technology, business-to-business services and software practice areas.
The firm's commitment to delivering great results has also been recognized by the industry. For the fifth time since 2004, Articulate has been named a finalist for the SABRE Awards, produced by The Holmes Report and recognizing superior achievement in PR programs that demonstrate creativity, innovation and effectiveness. Articulate has also been named a finalist for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Big Apple Award in the category of business-to-business marketing. Longtime client Antenna Software is the featured case study for both awards, and winners will be named in May.
For its continued pursuit of excellence and commitment to client service, Articulate was named a Small Business Commerce Association (SBCA) "Best of Business" award winner for 2009. This SBCA program recognizes the top 5 percent of small businesses throughout the country that have demonstrated what makes small businesses a vital part of the American economy.
"During these troubled economic times, Articulate been able to grow its client roster, extend its experience into different technology sectors, and keep its talented staff intact," said Laura Grimmer, CEO of Articulate Communications. "The Articulate team continues to grow and perform at the highest level, and we're working every day to expand both our skills and our relationships with valued clients to make communications an ever more critical part of their holistic marketing strategy."
Recognizing the collaborative and close relationship between marketing professionals and the PR agency team they employ, Articulate recently launched the Articulate Advisory Board (AAB), composed of vice president- and executive-level marketing contacts from a diverse, cross-section of clients. The AAB meets with the Articulate Leadership Team on a quarterly basis with the goal of enhancing the relationship between agency and client, discussing the alignment of PR and marketing strategies with business goals and soliciting insight and feedback that can be put into practice immediately.
"Being part of the AAB enables me to meet with other like-minded industry executives, discuss best practices and gain insight into other successful strategies," said Diane Carlson, vice president of marketing and communications at Articulate client Sparta Systems. "At the April meeting, the group discussed measurement and social media - two ongoing issues that continue to challenge marketers."
